Brain-engrafted monocyte-derived macrophages from blood and skull-bone marrow exhibit distinct properties [Dataset]
Description
The dataset includes a spreadsheet file containing all raw data for main and supplementary figures for the paper published on Neuron "Brain-engrafted monocyte-derived macrophages from blood and skull-bone marrow exhibit distinct properties". The main findings of the study are: repeated microglia depletion allows peripheral monocytes to engraft the brain; brain-engrafted macrophages acquire transcriptional and epigenetic identities distinct from microglia and adopt a border-associated macrophage-like phenotype; monocytes from both blood and skull origins replenish the brain, revealing unexpected routes of brain macrophage renewal. The data is in a simple Excel spreadsheet with 43 data tabs. A list of all data tabs is in the Master-README file.
